Day 28 of Things I Love: Lazy Sundays

Sundays are my favorite day of the week. Gray and I start the day with "breakfast club" with our neighbors. It is a great way to end the week and we have all become quite a family in our little neighborhood. We are lucky enough to have a neighbor who owns this restaurant and they have the best breakfast.
Sundays are great for milling around the house, antiquing, long lunches, gardening, and catching up with your favorite friends.
Have a lazy, happy Sunday!

Invite friends over for brunch and make these delicious blackberry napoleons and orange shortbread wafers. Divine!

Set the perfect scene for a long, leisurely brunch. Mimosas required

Take a dip in the pool and lounge in the sun for the afternoon

End the evening in a cozy outside room with coffee and lots of friends

Day 27 of Things I Love: Flowers

I love flowers. I don't care what style, shape, or color they are, I love them all. I am even one of those rare people that like carnations. I know, unbelievable. I think that done in the right way, carnations can be so charming.
We all work so hard and I really think that it is so important to take good care of yourself and your well being. Massages and manicures would be great, but who has the time? Splurge (a little) and buy fresh flowers for your home every Sunday and start the week off right. Happy Saturday!
xoxo

Peonies, my favorite.

Day 26 of Things I Love: Martha Stewart

I admit, I love Martha Stewart. I have been an avid reader of her magazines and books since I was in middle school. My freshman year in college, I met one of my best friends through Martha. I was unpacking my collection of Martha Stewart Living magazines and as she walked by my dorm room, she screamed. She had brought her  magazines as well! We were instantly friends and have been so ever since.

Martha may be known as "the bitch that knows everything," but I think she is fabulous. She has turned cooking and entertaining and crafts into a multi million dollar company. Anyone that can turn what they love doing into a profession is lucky. Martha has got it going on.

Day 25 of Things I Love: Champagne

I love Champagne. It such a celebratory thing to drink and even more fun when you drink it for no reason at all. I always try and keep a few bottles of champagne at the house; nothing fancy, any kind will do. Champagne brings such good memories. I drank it when I graduated college, when Gray proposed, at our wedding, when I quit crappy jobs and when I found a fabulous new job, when Gray passed the bar, with some of the best girlfriends in the world ; the list goes on and on. One of my good friends introduced me to canned champagne with a straw at her husband's wine bar.. It's pink! What's not to  love?

Day 24 of Things I Love: Dogs

It's been one of those days at work. Do you ever have those? I LOVE my job and couldn't ask for a better team to work with on the daily. Once in a while, things go wrong, and I am so spoiled by great clients and great co-workers, that those days are especially hard!

You know what made everything ok? Coming home to my sweet husband, a big glass of red wine, and my crazy dogs. I walked through the door and they can't wait to jump and lick and love me. It's one of life's greatest pleasure. I LOVE dogs! The big and small, blue blooded show dogs and the muts. It doesn't matter what they are or where they come from, I just love them. I am not a cat person. They are sneaky and typically not friendly and jump on tables when you are least expecting it. I'm terrified of them! Sorry cat people, I just don't get it.

Meet Cooper. He is my rhodesian ridgeback lab mix dog. He is terrified of hardwood floors, grass, cats, fishing rods, and tile floor. He is allergic to everything except sweet potato and duck dog food. He is also on Prozac. For real.

Cooper doesn't like the grass, so instead, he digs a spot in the newly sodded yard. Great.

Polly Anna has the opposite problem. She loves everything, isn't scared or allergic to anything and everyone adores her.

Day 23 of Things I Love: Ribbon

This morning on the radio, the DJ said that one in three women would prefer to be a man. My first thought was, are you kidding me? There is no way that I would want to be a man. No perfume or flowers or wedding planning or girl time or spa days or champagne lunches. I couldn't imagine myself getting pumped up to go fishing at 5am or to sit in a bar all day watching Nascar. I think Foz or whoever took that poll was all wrong. Definitely wrong. Doesn't that just make you want to sing that old song.."I enjoy being a girl" at the top of your lungs??

One of the many, many, perks of being a girl, is being able to love things like ribbon. Here are a few gorgeous photos of why I love ribbon so much...

What a great work station!

Love the ribbon on these blinds
