Guest Post from Seventeen & Irving

Hi, I'm Lauren from Seventeenth & Irving, where I blog about fashion, interiors, and anything else I find inspiring. You might know me from this post on Fifi Cheek. I was excited when Lindsey asked me to put together a post for you guys on fashion trends translated to interior design. Since I'm an interior designer, I always follow the runway shows for inspiration.

When neon first popped up on the runways last fall, I knew it would only be a matter of time until it started trending in interiors. Now, everywhere you turn, there are inspiration images with bursts of neon. I think this is a perfect way to incorporate a fashion trend in to your own home whether you go for strategic pops of yellow and pink like this room from Style At Home, one bold statement like this hot pink coffee table featured on Design Sponge, or over the top with bright furniture like Jonathan Adler. Not only is it fun and playful, it just screams summer! Adding neon to your home is like bringing the sunshine indoors.

If you're looking to add just a subtle hint to your home with little commitment, these chevron pillows would be perfect on a neutral sofa. And wouldn't a summer brunch party using this flatware or these glasses be fun? This lampwould make a perfect impact on an entry console, but if you really want to make a statement, this chair from Society Social fits the bill. Don't be afraid to mix these pieces in strategically, a little goes a long way!
