Day 15 of Things I Love: The Top Knot

When you wake up late or just don't feel like washing your hair, the top knot is the way to go. This year was named "the year of the bun" and I couldn't be happier. With a little hair powder, a few bobby pins, and backcombing, you can have a top knot in just a few minutes!

Our first date night post baby I wore a top knot because I didn't have a ton of time to get ready.
The husband loved it!

The Beauty Department has a great tutorial on how to create a fancier version of the top knot.

Do you top knot?

  1. LOVE the top knot and am so happy it's in style this year - hope it lasts for at least a few years as it is so easy, chic and simple!

Can I just say you look incredible for your first night out? I don't have little ones yet, but I am always astonished at how wonderful some of you mom's look so quickly - you look great!

  3. I love top knots AND the navy striped jacke you're wearing! :) Where did you find it? I'm loving a striped peplum hem Tibi number from their spring line, but I would like to find a slightly cheaper option.

  9. What a cute pic! P.S. dying over your credenza in the background. Is that a vintage piece?

  10. Y'all are so sweet! Andrea, the credenza is "vintage" aka found in a junk store and laquered white and added hardware! And when I wear my hair in a top knot, I DON'T curl it. It's my go to for day old hair!
