Apartments in Paris

So, as you know, the husband and I are going to Paris in November. I am thrilled, but a tiny bit stressed because the constant paycheck and paid health insurance is no longer an option, and Paris isn't something that someone I can really do on a budget. Yikes!
(Should have thought about that before I spent $9937593912 on these)

In a way to find a happy balance between luxury and reality, I have been apartment shopping in Paris. Yes, it's true. To rent an apartment in Paris is far less expensive than to stay in a hotel for a week. After scouring hundreds of websites, I found a chic little apartment in the Latin Quarter (which I heard is a lot like SOHO in NYC) and have completely fallen in love. What do you think? Before I book it, please give me feed back as to (a) is this actually a good neighborhood and (b) if you know a better/less expensive but totally glam place to stay in Paris.

This is the main room... aren't those windows divine?

What hotel has crystal chandeliers in the bedroom? I love this!

This is the incredible view from the apartment.

Here is one of the neighborhood's cafes. How charming!

More details to come!!!

Gorgeous Wedding Dresses

As a wedding planner, seeing the bride in her dress on her wedding day is one of the most rewarding parts of the evening. What trumps me seeing her for the first time is the look in her father's eyes and then her husbands eyes. The father is seeing the little girl they are giving away and the husband is seeing the woman they are about to marry.  When you really think about , a wedding dress is the most important thing a woman will ever wear.
These light as air dresses are perfect for a summer wedding that will keep you chic and comfortable.

New York Magazine's Weddings Issue did a story about this summer's gorgeous wedding dresses. Aren't they stunning? See the full slideshow here.

Epic Earl

Hurricane Earl came and went without a drop of rain. What he did bring to this small beach town were "EPIC" waves.
(That's the husband's comments, not mine.)

No broken surf boards, thank Jesus

And they eloped...

My dear friends and clients eloped to Italy last week. I think it is so romantic.
Aren't their photos stunning?

The storm is coming

Hurricane season is in full swing and Wilmington is about to get it's first taste of the Hurricane Earl. The grocery stores are crazy; people have literally lost their minds. I went in today for eggplant, chocolate chips, and wine and was interviewed by the local news channel. They weren't too impressed with my grocery cart or my easy going attitude about the storm. I think they were looking for someone a little more frantic. I don't think I'll make it on live television.

With the storm comes cooler weather which is a fabulous break from the 100 degree days that we have been having recently. I know that Fall is just around the corner and by December I will be longing for summer, but I can't help to think about cozy rainy days, dark nail polish, red wine, and gorgeous new blazers.
