Happy Bastille Day!

On July 14th, 1789, crowds stormed the Bastille fortress-prison in Paris to release prisoners who had been unfairly locked away by Louis XVI. In honor of France’s La Fête Nationale (Bastille Day), here are a few of my favorite French things:

Saint James Sailor Shirts

French Macaroons, they make me weak at the knees 

French cheese, another guilty pleasure. I could make an entire dinner out of just French cheese! 

Hermes scarves. What's not to love. They make any outfit look great, they come in gorgeous boxes, and can you wear them a thousand different ways. Voila, as the French girls say, so chic.

After a sleepless night and a day full of cleaning and packing for Charleston, I think I'll make a dinner of wine (for the husband), cheese, fruit, olives, nuts, and good bread for dinner in honor of Bastille Day. (and a great excuse not to cook!)

Day 17 of Things I Love: Fashion Week

Zac Posen gorgeousness to the core.

Fashion week brings just as much excitement to me as the Final 4 or the Superbowl does to other people. I'm up until the wee hours of the morning stalking out style.com and looking at all the shows. I woke the husband up by shouting at the computer screen in pure joy when Zac Posen's show previewed. Holy gorgeousness! Fashion week is pure eye candy to those that can truly appreciate it. Helllll no we can't afford it, and yes, it is outrageous looking at times. But it also a work of art and the outrageousness that you see on the catwalk translates to the ready-to-wear lines that we will all be wearing next year. Delight in it here.
