Blogging royalty, Abby Larson, from Style Me Pretty

And a few other wedding hot shots. To say the least, I am beyond excited. I have never been to San Francisco, but I am even more excited about being around other wedding and event planners. I think it is going to be a total recharge of my creativity and energy right before wedding season starts.

I forgot to mention the best part! I am going with one of my girlfriends, Courtney Arnold of Stellar Events. We always have the best time together and we have never seen a mimosa or boutique that we didn't like. 

If you have any suggestions of what to do, where to go, where to eat, or what to see in San Francisco, please let me know! I can't wait to see what the city brings!

Pouring

It's pouring rain here on the island today. And I didn't bring my rain coat, or an umbrella. So now my heavy wool coat is going to smell like cabbage after it gets soaked. Awesome.

While blog browsing, I saw the sweetest, most endering post ever here. Could you just die? I literally teared up when reading it. That's been happening a lot lately.

2. Gourmet Grilled Cheese

After such a good day off, the last thing I want to do is cook all night. Gourmet grilled cheese and tomato soup is the perfect weekday food for cold nights. Buying better ingredients and adding a little extra makes all the difference.

1 Loaf of French Bread

XXX White Cheddar Cheese (@ Harris Teeter in the cheese display)

Granny Smith Apples

Slice the bread and cheese into thick slices. Slice the apples in thin strips and add to the sandwich. Grill with olive oil until crispy. So good!

You can't beat Campbell's tomato soup with lots of  pepper and a nice glass of red wine. 

Day 28 of Things I Love: Lazy Sundays

Sundays are my favorite day of the week. Gray and I start the day with "breakfast club" with our neighbors. It is a great way to end the week and we have all become quite a family in our little neighborhood. We are lucky enough to have a neighbor who owns this restaurant and they have the best breakfast. 

Sundays are great for milling around the house, antiquing, long lunches, gardening, and catching up with your favorite friends. 

Have a lazy, happy Sunday!

Invite friends over for brunch and make these delicious blackberry napoleons and orange shortbread wafers. Divine!

Set the perfect scene for a long, leisurely brunch. Mimosas required

Take a dip in the pool and lounge in the sun for the afternoon

End the evening in a cozy outside room with coffee and lots of friends

Day 27 of Things I Love: Flowers

I love flowers. I don't care what style, shape, or color they are, I love them all. I am even one of those rare people that like carnations. I know, unbelievable. I think that done in the right way, carnations can be so charming.

We all work so hard and I really think that it is so important to take good care of yourself and your well being. Massages and manicures would be great, but who has the time? Splurge (a little) and buy fresh flowers for your home every Sunday and start the week off right. Happy Saturday!

Day 26 of Things I Love: Martha Stewart

I admit, I love Martha Stewart. I have been an avid reader of her magazines and books since I was in middle school. My freshman year in college, I met one of my best friends through Martha. I was unpacking my collection of Martha Stewart Living magazines and as she walked by my dorm room, she screamed. She had brought her  magazines as well! We were instantly friends and have been so ever since.

Martha may be known as "the bitch that knows everything," but I think she is fabulous. She has turned cooking and entertaining and crafts into a multi million dollar company. Anyone that can turn what they love doing into a profession is lucky. Martha has got it going on.
